Power & Water Systems Consultants (PWSC) was formed in 1983 to provide consulting and research services in the fields of power and water resource development, covering the following specialisations:
Power & Water Systems Analysis: mathematical modelling of water resources and hydro-thermal power generation systems; simulation and optimization; operational studies; system expansion planning.
Hydrologic Networks, Data Banks & Analysis: data collection networks, data bank desgin and implementation; statistical analysis; flood studies; precipitation and streamflow record analysis and extension.
Project Studies: singles and multipurpose reservoir operation; yield and energy production assessment; dam height optimization; cost-benefit analysis.
Regional & Sectoral Studies: evaluation of hydropower potential; river system modelling; power systems analysis in energy studies.
Proposals & Appraisals: identification of technical co-operation programmes; preparation of terms of reference and technical proposals for masterplan, pre-investment and river basin studies.
Computer Systems & Modelling: hardware and software selection; specification, design, development and documentation of documentation of application programs.
Contacts are maintained with universities and research institutions working in these fields. In addition, PWSC has agreements with several other engineering, economic, management and development consulting groups to provide joint services covering wider fields of activity.
PWSC is active in the United Kingdom and overseas, staff members having particular experience in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
