| AWiSE is the only national association for women working in all areas of science, engineering and technology (SET). AWiSE branches started spontaneously in 1994, following an article in the New Scientist on the Rising Tide report on the position of women in SET, and is now an established network for women in SET. We have a lively quarterly journal, Forum, active branches around the UK and participate in many networking events and government consultations. A free professional mentoring scheme for women, MentorSET, is available to all AWiSE members. We welcome women in SET fields who are students, in academic or industrial employment, at any level, and those on career breaks.
