The benefits of using recycled materials in highway and street maintenance will be demonstrated at a series of highly interactive, practical “recycled roads” workshops that WRAP (the Waste & Resources Action Programme) is running in early 2005. Focused on increasing the specification, procurement and use of recycled and secondary aggregates, the workshops are aimed at local authority highway engineers, their consultants, contractors and suppliers.
Key issues addressed will include:
•Recycling in local authority highway works •Procurement and specifying recycled content •Making recycling work in the local authority environment •Developing specifications to encourage recycling •Using composts in landscaping works
This series of events will show what can, and is, being done. You will learn from the experts on how savings can be made, how environmental good practice has strong financial benefits and how you can access authoritative practical guidance on the use of recycled materials.
Delivered by specialists from WRAP, BRE, TRL, together with local authority and regional speakers, this is one workshop you cannot afford to miss!
These workshops are supported by CECA, Constructing Excellence, CSS, Highways Agency, ICE, IHIE and IHT and qualify for CPD certificates.
Venues include London in January and March, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Leeds, Bristol, Southampton, Nottingham and Cambridge.
