What is it?

Civil engineering (as you will see if you search the web) defined as one of the oldest professions. The professional engineering discipline deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, building, bridges, dams, and canals. Everything you see around you that consitutes infrastructure probably had input from a civil engineer.
